David Bruce is a forward-thinking executive with a proven record of accomplishment in the hospitality and association industry. With a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Arizona, David has dedicated his career to continuous business improvement, focusing on relationship and strategic sales approaches. He is driven and ambitious, with a strong dedication to maximizing profits through multifaceted business strategies.
David is currently the Founder and Executive Director of the Alliance of Independent Meeting Professionals in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership by developing a strategic plan to align independent meeting planners and highlight their importance in the hospitality industry. Under his visionary leadership, the association has brought in $500 million in group room revenue over three years.
As a Managing Partner at CMP Meeting Services LP, David was one of the first independent meeting professionals to develop a commission-based payment system for clients. His leadership in negotiating complex vendor contracts and managing the administrative logistics of event planning has set a benchmark in the industry.
David has also served as the Executive Director of The Gregg Zaun Foundation, where he worked closely with organizational leadership to strategically affect the direction of operations. His career includes a notable tenure as the National Sales Director at Doubletree Hotels, where he was part of the leadership team that developed the famous Doubletree Cookie Program.
Throughout his career, David has demonstrated superior leadership skills in negotiation, financial administration, strategic planning, and project management. His leadership has been recognized with several accolades, including being named one of MeetingsNet's 20 Changemakers in 2018, one of Successful Meetings' 25 Most Influential People in 2018, and one of Meetings Today's 20 Meetings Trendsetters in 2018 .
